Let’s Begin...

2006... the Beginning...

This is my workshop, which makes use of half of a two car garage. Since my wife insists on parking her car in the garage during the long Michigan winters, I must make sure that my shop is as condensed as possible and mobile.

Prior to this I only dabbled in woodworking crafts, but due to my work schedule I was unable to devote much time to it and eventually my woodworking passion drift away. After 25 plus years and a work schedule that allowed me time at home, instead of on the road 3 out of 4 weeks a month, I was able re-kindle my woodworking in 2000 when I moved to my new home that offered me the ability of using my garage, as opposed to a coner in the basement.

My shop and my woodworking abilities are only in their infancy, the same as this web site. I hope to add more to this web site as I develop my skills on the web and my woodworking skills.

My plan for this site is to share what I have learned in developing a garage wookshop, and the equipment that I use. I would also like to share the workshop helpers I have used to help me in my progress into woodworking. With less than 10 years away from retirement, my goal is to have a workshop that will be fully functional and my skills built up so that by the time I retire I will be able to maximize my re-kindled woodworking hobby.

2007... the Preparation...

I have used the year to add to my workshop... I have added a much needed Jointer and Bandsaw. See the Workshop photos for details.

I also used this year to build a height adjustable roll-about table for my Benchdog Contractor Router Table that I got in 2006. I designed it such that it fits between the fence rails of my DeWalt table saw. This way I have added width support
